What’s your secret advantage at work?
Asking questions and admitting when I don’t have the answer in the moment. Especially in this industry, things are constantly changing and evolving. It’s okay to not know everything but it’s not okay to be complacent and stay there – I always ask questions, seek to understand, grow, and be better and lead my teams that way. It also enables me to be seen as a trusted client partner, foster better relationships, and uncover different points of view.
What professional lesson or advice do you return to time and again?
“Don’t let perfect get in the way of great.” Chasing perfection is futile; you have to start somewhere, so take that leap! Even if you fail, you will grow, evolve, and come back better next time. Let’s keep it moving! Better said on The Sopranos, “More is lost by indecision than wrong decision."
What do you love most about working in commerce?
Everything! I grew up spending a ton of time in malls and stores and have loved every second of watching this industry change, evolve, and innovate. Finding success while meeting demand and needs at the intersection of convenience and entertainment is crucial and will always be determined by the consumer.
Any hidden talents?
Channeling my inner HGTV-star for DIY projects.
Favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
Going to concerts and plays/musicals! The buzzing energy in venues is always so much fun.
